What is Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)?
It is a condition which occurs due to the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) which is the muscle in the bottom of the esophagus failing to close. This gives the stomach acid an opportunity to recline towards the esophagus to aggravate the esophagus and even end up causing irreparable damage.
Common Symptoms
GERD can not necessarily resemble and have the following symptoms:
- However, burning of the chest (heartburn)
- Bad-tasting of the mouth or food-induced
- Pneumonia of access, cough of dryness, and particularly during the night
- Like a heart attack, chestaches
- Problems (difficulty with swallowing) (dysphagia)
- Throat, voice is hoarse or invariably painful
- This aggravates breathing problems or asthma
Causes
The etiology of GERD could be a variety of factors that weaken or relax LES, or factors that increase pressure in the stomach:
- Poor sphincter muscle detector.
- Hiatal hernia
- Excessive or larger body weight exceeding normal body weight.
- Pregnancy
- Extreme alcoholism or tobacco smoking.
- Consumption of hot, fatty or sour food.
- And even some of his relaxation drugs, of his LES, or other drugs, in asthma drugs or blood pressure drugs.
