Meet Michael
Michael is 52, lives in Cypress, and keeps moving his colonoscopy to next month.
His weekdays follow the same rhythm — Barker Cypress Road in the morning, work in Houston during the day, school pickups and weekend errands around Towne Lake and Bridgeland in the evenings. Preventive care never makes it onto the calendar because the calendar is already full.
He does not feel sick. He feels healthy enough to keep going, and that is the entire problem. Each time the reminder shows up, it gets dismissed the same way: I will do it when things calm down.
Things never calm down. The reminder comes back. The pattern continues.
What started as routine postponement has slowly turned into a low-grade question that follows him around — quieter than worry, louder than nothing, and exactly the kind of thing colonoscopy is designed to answer.
I feel fine… but something still bothers me.
